Kekkai Genkai/Bloodtrait: Genso-shi (The Phantom Limb). Members of the Hokotai clan have the ability to manipulate their nervous system through chakra. Doing this allows advanced medical jutsu such as restoring spine damage, but even more importantly to the clan ; It allows the integration of prosthetic limbs as reactive as human ones. This is commonly used to enhance their puppet manipulation abilities. There are rumors that rogue ninja from the clan have used this ability to slowly replace their body with artificial pieces in the pursuit of immortality.
Background: The Hokotai clan are puppeteers, there is no room for exceptions. The clan is headed by the eldest women of the three families. The clan has always mandated a strict population policy among itself, never allowing more than one hundred members. As there are only three families in the clan there have been times of dispute over which family should be allowed to have the most children.
When any disputes arise among the clan, they battle each other through the use of puppets. The family who displays the most decisive strategy is elected the head of the Clan council.
From a young age children of the clan are taught to control small puppets, and expected to join the academy at the earliest age possible. Due to the rigorous nature of the clans educational policy and the fact that each generation is increasingly further apart, most children of the clan graduate the academy young with an average age of 10 years old.
In recent times the clan has grown slowly, due to the natural ability possessed by its members to slow the affects of aging on the body and mind through their nervous manipulation. The Hokotai clan has been the subject of some public disgrace due to the culling of a quarter of its population during the war so that a new generation could be introduced.
